Rollable solar control with metal mesh for office building

Roller shutters made of aluminum spiral mesh serve as power-operated solar protection at the Rabobank office building.

The architects from the van den Pauwert office developed a shell with floor-length windows for the existing office building of Rabobank in Geldern.

The windows were to be equipped with a roll-up solar protection system that sits in rails and underlines the transparent character of the building. Roller shutters made of Licorne 13a metal mesh from GKD were deployed for this purpose. The building was awarded BREEAM certification as "Very Good" thanks to the solar protection properties of the aluminum roller shutters.
