The production of our wire mesh takes place on special wire weaving looms. Generally, all metals that can be worked to form a weavable wire are suitable for wire mesh production. Industrial mesh and mesh for process belts have a wire diameter of 12 µm to 6 mm, whereas for architectural mesh the spectrum ranges from 0.5 mm to 7 mm.
Weaves consisting of wire cables, wire bundles, or preformed wires are also known as wire mesh. Other designations for wire mesh are sieving cloth or – more generally – sieve, even if the field of application of wire mesh goes far beyond separation technology – such as when used as a filtration net in a filter system.
Depending on the requirements, wire meshes are produced in various weave types. These range from the familiar square mesh in plain weave through to complex multi-ply mesh designs.
